WHAT IS AN E-CIGARETTE?

Electronic cigarettes, also known as smokeless cigarettes, e-cigarettes, vaporizers or e-cigs, are an alternative method of consuming nicotine, the addictive chemical found in tobacco. Manufacturers often design e-cigarettes to look like regular cigarettes, but they contain no tobacco and don't require a match - or any flame at all.

The E-Cigarette produces water vapour which can be inhaled, hence why some refer to this as ‘vaping’.

E-liquids are used to fill the E-cigarette which allow you to choose from a huge choice of flavours. These E-liquids can be completely nicotine free, or you can choose from a variety of nicotine strengths.

An E-cigarette is a battery-powered device that converts liquid nicotine into a mist or vapor, that the user inhales. Hence why users refer to this as ‘vaping’. There's no fire, no ash and no smoky smell, but a visible vapour is exhaled.  E-cigarettes do not contain all of the harmful chemicals associated with smoking tobacco cigarettes, such as carbon monoxide and tar.

E-liquids are usually a mixture of propylene glycol (PG),  vegetable glycerine (VG),  nicotine and flavourings  Consumers can buy e-liquids containing different amounts of nicotine, or no nicotine at all.

Propylene Glycol (PG) - dilutes the flavour and nicotine and produces a smoke like vapour.

Vegetable Glycerine (VG) - viscous and sweet, it also produces a smoke like vapour but with a reduced throat hit and a thicker cloud.

HOW IT WORKS

The battery provides the atomiser with a charge that heats it up, rapidly converting the nicotine e-liquid inside the e-cigarette's clearomizer into a dense mist or vapor. This vapor looks a lot like real tobacco smoke, but it doesn't leave behind any nasty odours and it immediately dissipates into the surrounding air after just a few seconds. You inhale this vapor deep into your lungs much in the same way as you would smoke a regular cigarette.

OVERALL

Electronic cigarettes are so similar to real cigarettes that many smokers have found it perfectly easy to exchange tobacco cigarettes for electronic cigarettes, even if a few minor changes in overall taste and feel were noted. Once you realise how electronic cigarettes work and give them a try, you really won't want to go back to smoking tobacco cigarettes. The electronic cigarette can greatly improve the lifestyles of smokers throughout the world because it is safer to human health. An average smoker will spend nearly £3000 a year on 20 cigarettes a day. With E-cigarettes a smoker would be spending less than £500 a year! No contest really!
